The curious case of buttons

Do you have a box somewhere in your room, your house, the place you call home, that is full of mismatched buttons? Just random buttons, from blouses, coats and extra buttons they attach to your article of clothing when you lose a button. I had one for a while. I have a lot of clothes with buttons and all the extra buttons were put in that box and placed in a drawer for when I needed that particular button. I have all kinds of buttons, all colors and shapes and sizes. Star buttons, circle buttons, square buttons, etc...

I have yet to use any of those buttons. When I lose a button, I just walk around with a missing button or I'll use a clothespin, if its really obvious that I lost a button, I'll probably discontinue that particular item from my wardrobe, so I started thinking, why do I keep this box? I don't use it, space waster and just a futile effort in trying to stay neat.
