Follow that Truck!
I love tacos. So when I heard that there was a new Korean taco truck around the area, I was dying to try it. Only problem is that it only stays in DC. I work in Rockville so I'm not going to travel 30 mins on the metro to wait possibly another 30 minutes from some tacos UNLESS they are the bomb diggity. So when I heard they were doing this curbside truck-off (that might not actually be the name of the event) I was all over that. My plan was to get some tacos and if I had time, I would visit the other trucks. In the back of my mind I was like maybe I should take cash. But then I said, nah, I think I have enough for one taco (that's all I wanted). Then I said, they probably accept plastic. So I get there, it's a pretty warm day but it was nice. I'm waiting in line thinking, I should go get cash. But I don't. I was like I'm going to lose my spot, they'll run out of tacos, etc. Then an hour goes by, we barely moved. Are you kidding me?? Then I'm thinking, the tacos must be the bomb. Everyone was getting into the line. As I get closer I see the tacos cost 3 dollars, not 2. I had 2 dollars only. Ummmmmm ok. I have not just spent 1.5 hrs in line to see that I don't have enough money, not even for ONE taco. I start searching in my purse for loose change. Unfortunately, I had just switched and cleaned out my purse. I started getting frustrated, I was like I could have soooooooooooo gotten cash but no, I had to be hard headed. Finally I rounded up enough change. I get to the front, I order one taco. They smell delicious, they look delicious, I take a bite... they are delicious. But they are also exactly like the way my mom makes them. My mom actually makes them better. I waited in line for 2 hours for one taco that I could have gotten at home. Really? But I'm glad I tried.
